Part 1: Manoeuvres
Players have one ball each.
Players run around area with ball on stick for 45-seconds, then move the ball while standing still for 45-seconds as active rest.
Repeat 3-times.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on ball throughout movements. Low body position, keep head up, identify space, constantly change direction
Part 2: Eliminations
Players starting on diagonal cones carry at speed, while moving the ball left and right.
When they reach the cone, move the ball left as they jump from their right foot onto their left foot.
Repeat at each cone until back to the start. Next player goes.
While waiting their turn, players move the ball in static position.
Score 1 point for getting back to the start each time.
Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat 3 times with aim being to beat previous score.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on ball, keep head up for vision, keep ball central. High speed is the focus, quick change of direction.
Part 3: Connections
Players at diagonal cones start the exercise, by moving the ball forwards and backwards 3 times.
Players then carry the ball left at speed and make pass to the next cone. Follow your pass.
Players on the cone receive the pass, perform 3 forward and back actions, and continue the exercise.
Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat 3 times.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on the ball, fast hands, hard accurate passing, strong receive. High intensity, high ball speed, keep feet moving.
Part 4: Small Group Gameplay
4 v 4 CONTEST.
Score = players carry the ball over the end line with control = 1 point.
Coach times 4-minute contests.
COACHING POINTS
Confidence under pressure, attack constantly, aggression, use free player. Identify when to eliminate/pass, always looking for forward option. High intensity on and off the ball.
