Part 1: Manoeuvres
Players start at each side of the square with 1 ball each.
Coach says 'GO' and all players carry ball across the square once (level 1).
Players avoid each other as they cross.
Players then have to perform the same action but increase it to level 2, 3, 4, 5 and then 6 crossings without stopping.
2 second break in between each crossing. Repeat all levels twice.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on ball, head up to avoid players, drive into space. Keep feet moving, focus on speed.
Part 2: Connections
1 player starts on each cone with 1 ball each.
Players dribble the ball forward at the same time.
As they arrive at the next cone, players pass their ball to each other, receive the pass and continue to the next cone.
When players reach the end cones, they turn around and continue the exercise in the opposite direction.
Score 1 point every time players return back to the starting positions.
Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat twice as players attempt to beat previous score.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on the ball, keep ball central to body, find a pass. Keep feet moving, fluid movement.
Part 3: Small Group Gameplay
2 v 2 Adaptation.
Red player starts on the white cone with the ball, single blue player starts on the corner cone, while 1 player from each team begins on the blue cone.
Coach says 'GO' and the players circle the cones and enter the playing area.
2 v 2 battle commences and teams can score in any goal at any time. Reds cannot score in goal X.
Battles last 45 seconds or until a goal is scored and change attacking teams.
COACHING POINTS
Head up for vision, identify space. Identify when to pass/eliminate. High intensity on and off the ball.
