Part 1: Manoeuvres

1 ball per player.

Divide into 3 groups, starting in shaded areas. Players dribble the ball around the area.

After 25 seconds, coach says 'GO' and the players sprint with their ball to the next area.

Repeat the exercise for full 2 rotations and then repeat in the opposite direction.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, top hand works. Keep feet moving, strong body position.

Part 2: Eliminations

2 teams competing against each other.

1st player on each cone carries the ball forwards into cone minefield.

Players dribble through as they avoid the ball touching any of the cones.

Players exit the 1st set of cones, accelerate through the gap while avoiding other players.

Continue dribbling through the next set of cones.

As players reach orange cone, next player continues the exercise.

Coach times 3 minutes. Teams see how many times they can get across grid.

Repeat exercise twice and attempt to beat scores.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, ball out in front of body. Low strong position, keep feet moving, focus on speed.

Part 3: Connections

First player chooses 1 cone colour. Player dribbles the ball to each colour cone chosen. 

Once through the cones, players go around right of left orange cone and make pass to waiting player. Follow their pass.

Next player receives pass and continues the exercise.

While players are waiting their turn, dribble the ball in static position.

Coach times 3 minutes, groups count how many rotations they can complete.

Repeat twice and attempt to beat score.

Part 4: Small Group Gameplay

1 v 1 Arena battle.

2 teams position themselves diagonally behind cones. 1 team starts with the ball.

Both players start at the same time and run forward and around cone to enter the arena.

Players compete with each other in 1 v 1 battle.

Win by running the ball over the end line with control.

Battles last 30 seconds or until a goal is scored.

After 2 minutes, change team starting with the ball.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, take ball off opponent, attack space. Drive into space, move the defender. Focus on speed, attack with aggression.
