Part 1: Manoeuvres

1 ball per player.

Players divided into 3 groups, starting in shaded areas.

Run around shaded area, dribbling the ball for 35 seconds.

Coach says 'GO', players sprint with ball to the next area.

Repeat 3 times and then perform exercise in the opposite direction.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, fast hands. Keep feet moving, fluid ball movement, focus on speed.

Part 2: Eliminations

2 players on each orange cone.

1st player on each cone carries ball forward at same time.

When players reach red cone, pull the ball either left or right and continue forward.

When players reach tyre, pull the ball to the right and accelerate with the ball towards orange cone.

Next player will carry forward and continue the exercise.

While waiting their turn, players dribble the ball in static position.

Coach times 3-minutes and then players repeat with change of direction.

Part 3: Connections

Players start with 1 ball each on the red cone.

Both players dribble the ball at same time towards tyre .

When they reach the tyre, players pull the ball either right of left past the tyre towards the blue cone.

At the blue cone, players pull the ball right around the cone.

Once past the blue cone, players carry forward with their head up and make a weighted pass simultaneously towards red cone.

As soon as the make their pass, players lead to receive the ball on the red cone and continue exercise.

Score 1 point for every completed pass. Time 2-minutes, then change direction.

Part 4: Small Group Gameplay

2 v 2 Contest.

1 player from each team starts either side of the red cone.

Player A passes the ball towards players on the opposite side of the playing area, who both lead towards the ball and contest possession.

Once the ball is passed by player A, 2 v 2 contest commences.

Teams can score in any of the goals but need to carry the ball through the blue cones (shaded area) before shooting.

Contests last 30 seconds or until a goal is scored.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, identify space. Change direction, drive into space. Physicality, presence, work hard on and off the ball.
