Part 1: Manoeuvres

1 ball per player.

Group divided into 3 groups and starting in shaded areas.

Run around the area dribbling the ball for 35 seconds.

Coach says 'GO' and the players set up behind one of the objects and lift the ball backwards and forwards for 35 seconds.

Coach says 'GO' and the players accelerate to the next area.

Repeat 3 times, then perform exercise in the opposite direction.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, fast hands. Keep feet moving, fluid ball movement, focus on speed.

Part 2: Eliminations

1st player carries ball forward. 

Lift the ball over objects and spin around tyre. 

When player reaches orange cone, waiting player carries forward and continues the exercise.

While players are waiting, lift the ball from static position.

Score 1 point every time player reaches orange cone.

Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat twice as players attempt to beat their scores.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on ball, keep ball central, head up. Keep feet moving, focus on speed.

Part 3: Connections

1st player carries ball forward, lifting over each object and then front spinning around tyre.

Then complete 3 passes with player on orange cone who leads towards.

Player receives third pass and continues the exercise.

Score 1 point every time players reach the orange cones.

Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat twice as players attempt to beat previous scores.

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, lead late. Keep feet moving, focus on speed.

Part 4: Small Group Gameplay

1 v 1 Dropback.

Blue player carries the ball to the halfway between red cones and drops ball backwards and becomes defender.

Red player runs behind blue and receives the ball, attacking in 1 v 1.

Red player can score in any A goal and blue can score in any B goal within shaded area (2 yards).

When goal is scored, players on the corners enter the game.

Games last 45 seconds or until a goal is scored.

COACHING POINTS

Confidence under pressure, decision-making, attack. When to eliminate/pass. High intensity on and off the ball.
