Part 1: Manoeuvres

1 ball per player.

Divide into 3 groups, starting in shaded areas. Players dribble the ball around the area.

After 25 seconds, coach says 'GO' and the players sprint with their ball to the next area.

Repeat the exercise for full 2 rotations and then repeat in the opposite direction.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, top hand works. Keep feet moving, strong body position.

Part 2: Eliminations

2 teams competing against each other.

1st player on each cone carries the ball forward at the same time.

Players carry the ball to the left cone and then pull the ball to the right - avoiding the cones.

Players exit the 1st set of cones, accelerate through the gap and carry to the next orange cone.

As players reach the orange cone, the next player continues the exercise.

Coach times 3-minutes and teams see how many times they can get across the grid to get a point.

Repeat twice and players attempt to beat their scores.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, ball out in front of body. Low strong position, keep feet moving, focus on speed, fluid movement.

Part 3: Connections

1st player carries ball forward between the cones.

Avoid cones and go around either orange cone before passing back to the start. 

Follow your pass and join the back of the group. Player receives pass and continues the exercise.

Coach times 3-minutes as groups record how many rotations they can complete.

Repeat exercise twice as players attempt to better their scores.

While players are waiting their turn, dribble the ball in static position.

 COACHING POINTS

Stick on ball, head up for vision, keep ball central, strong pass & receive. Keep feet moving, focus on speed.

Part 4: Small Group Gameplay

1 v 1 battle with 2 goals.

Players from both teams start behind red cones with ball in the middle of the field.

Coach says 'GO' and 1 player from each team runs towards the ball.

1 v 1 battle commences where players can score in any of the 2 goals.

Players can only score within the shaded area (3 yards).

Battles last 30 seconds or until a goal is scored.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, confidence to take on opponent. Drive into space, engage the defender. Fast reactions, focus on speed on and off the ball.
