Part 1: Manoeuvres

1 ball per player.

Divide into 3 groups, starting in shaded areas. Players dribble the ball around the area.

After 25 seconds, coach says 'GO' and the players sprint with their ball to the next area.

Repeat the exercise for full 2 rotations and then repeat in the opposite direction.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, top hand works. Keep feet moving, strong body position.

Part 2: Eliminations

2 teams competing against each other.

1st player on each cone carries the ball forward at the same time.

Players dribble the ball and avoid the ball touching any of the cones.

Players exit the 1st set of cones, accelerate through the gap and carry to the next set of cones which they need to avoid.

As players reach the orange cone, the next player continues the exercise.

Coach times 3-minutes and teams see how many times they can get across the grid.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, ball out in front of body. Low strong position, keep feet moving, focus on speed, fluid movement.

Part 3: Connections

1st player on each cone carries the ball forward at the same time.

Move the ball left then right between each cone.

When players reach tyre, pull right and pass to the orange cone.

Player receives pass and continues exercise.

Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat twice.

 COACHING POINTS

Stick on ball, head up for vision, drive into space, strong pass & receive. Keep feet moving, focus on speed.

Part 4: Small Group Gameplay

2 v 2 Battle with goals.

1 player from each team starts on each red cone, with ball in middle of the field.

Coach say 'GO' and all 4 players run towards the ball.

Teams can score in any of the 4 goals. Battles last 45 seconds or until a goal is scored.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on ball, head up for vision, confidence on the ball. Decide when to eliminate/pass, go forward. Speed is the focus, aggressive, high intensity on and off the ball.
