Part 1: Manoeuvres
1 ball per player.
Divide into 3 groups, starting in shaded areas. Players dribble the ball around the area.
After 25 seconds, coach says 'GO' and the players sprint with their ball to the next area.
Repeat the exercise for full 2 rotations and then repeat in the opposite direction.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on the ball, head up for vision, top hand works. Keep feet moving, strong body position.
Part 2: Eliminations
2 teams competing against each other.
1st player on each cone carries the ball forward at the same time.
Players dribble the ball with a left to right pull back, avoiding touching the cones.
Players exit 1st set of cones, pull ball right at tyre and accelerate to orange cone.
As players reach the orange cone, next player continues the exercise for 1 point.
Coach times 3-minutes, teams see how many times they can get across grid.
Repeat twice while players attempt to increase their points.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on the ball, head up for vision, ball out in front of body. Low body position, focus on speed.
Part 3: Connections
1st player on each blue cone carries the ball forward at same time.
At each set of red cones, players move the ball left and right avoiding cones.
Once in the middle, players make 1-2 pass with player on the orange cone.
Players receive and pass to player waiting on blue cone.
Player receives pass and continues the exercise. Players rotate clockwise.
Coach times 4-minute sets. Players receive 1 point for reaching other blue cone.
Repeat twice as players attempt to beat their scores.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on ball, head up for vision, drive into space, strong pass & receive. Keep feet moving, focus on speed.
Part 4: Small Group Gameplay
1 v 1 Speed battle.
1 player from each team starts back-to-back on the tyre with 1 ball each.
Both players run with their ball towards a goal and place it in the goal.
As this happens, coach inserts 'Battle-Ball' into the arena and the players play 1 v 1.
Players can score in either goal with the 'Battle-Ball'.
Battle lasts 30 seconds or until a goal is scored.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on ball, head up for vision /awareness, identify space. Engage the defender with speed, aggression, no mercy. Keep feet moving, relentless high intensity.
