Part 1: Manoeuvres
1 ball per player.
Divide into 3 groups, starting in shaded areas. Players dribble the ball around the area.
After 25 seconds, coach says 'GO' and the players sprint with their ball to the next area.
Repeat the exercise for full 2 rotations and then repeat in the opposite direction.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on the ball, head up for vision, top hand works. Keep feet moving, strong body position.
Part 2: Eliminations
1 ball per player.
First player dribbles the ball to cone (1) and then backwards back to start.
Repeat to cone (2) and (3).
When player completes all 3 cones, next player carries forward and repeats.
While players are waiting, dribble the ball from static position.
Score 1 point for players completing each full rotation.
Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat twice as players attempt to beat their score.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on the ball, head up for vision, fast hands. Keep feet moving, focus on speed.
Part 3: Connections
1 player on each cone.
(A) players dribble ball forward at the same time at speed, going forwards to the tyre and then backwards back to the cone.
(B) players lead to the red cone and dribble the ball around the cone.
As (A) players return back to orange cone, (B) players make a lead outside box to receive pass.
(B) players receive pass and carry forward towards tyre while (A) players lead to red cone and dribble the ball until (B) returns to cone to make pass.
Score 1 point for every completed pass.
Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat twice as players attempt to beat their scores.
COACHING POINTS
Stick on ball, head up to find pass, time connection. Keep feet moving, fluid movement, high intensity.
Part 4: Small Group Gameplay
1 v 1 Gauntlet,
2 teams (4 v 4) with 1 player from each team inside the gauntlet.
These 2 players start with both sticks on the ball.
Coach says 'GO' and players battle each other 1 v 1 with red team scoring in (A) goals and blue scoring in (B).
Goals can only be scored within shaded area (2 yards).
When players score, they need to turn, sprint to their own goal and touch a post, while opposition receives a pass from one of their team mates on the sideline.
Players on the sideline keep dribbling the ball while watching the battle and sending a ball in if if leaves the gauntlet.
Matches last 40 seconds before pair are rotated.
COACHING POINTS
Confidence in possession, attack the defender, drive to space. Identify angles to move defender. Aggression going forward, use trickery, high intensity.
