Part 1: Manoeuvres

1 ball per player.

Divide into 3 groups, starting in shaded areas. Players dribble the ball around the area.

After 25 seconds, coach says 'GO' and the players sprint with their ball to the next area.

Repeat the exercise for full 2 rotations and then repeat in the opposite direction.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for vision, top hand works. Keep feet moving, strong body position.

Part 2: Eliminations

2 players on each cone, 1 ball per player.

First player on each cone carries the ball forward at the same time.

When players reach object, pull the ball to the right, while jumping from left foot to right foot, and carry forward.

When players reach the tyre, pull the ball to the right, while jumping from left foot to right foot, and carry towards next orange cone.

On arriving at the cone, next player carries forward and continues the drill.

While players are waiting their turn, dribble the ball in static position.

Coach times 3-minutes. Repeat twice.

COACHING POINTS

Stick on the ball, head up for stability and vision, top hand works. Feet moving, focus on speed on execution.

Part 3: Connections

2 players behind orange cone.

Player 1 carries the ball to the left cone.

Player 2 leads from orange cone to outside of the red cone and receives pass from player 1, who follows their pass.

Player 2 receives pass and continues the exercise towards player 3.

Players to lead late and with purpose, 1st touch on the move.

Coach times 1-minute each direction.

 COACHING POINTS

Stick on ball, timing of pass/lead, head up for vision. Communicate visually & verbally. Keep feet moving, dynamic leads, drive with 1st touch.

Part 4: Small Group Gameplay

1 v 1 Adaptation.

Players start on red cones either side of the area with 1 ball each.

Coach says 'GO' and both players run with their ball under control towards each other. When they meet, they both dribble backwards back to the cone.

As players return to the cone, red (defender) makes a pass to blue (attacker) who can score in either goal.

To score, players have to run the ball between the blue cones and push the ball into the goal.

Battles last 30 seconds or until a goal is scored.

COACHING POINTS

Head up for vision, drive into space, stick on ball, confidence. Adapt to body movement, stay in control. Fast change of direction and reaction, high intensity, focus on speed.
